Part of one of the greatest on-track rivalries in Grand Prix history, the Ferrari F1-90 was the stead of Alain Prost and was pitted against the McLaren of Ayrton Senna. Fresh from the Woking-based McLaren team himself, Prost devoted the early part of his season to development work, which had a big and positive impact in terms of the chassis and gearbox in particular. Prost brought home five wins for the Scuderia, including a remarkable victory from 13th place on the grid in Mexico, and this enabled him to challenge his nemesis Senna for the championship.
